If we've replaced glass in your home, thank you. This page is the plain-English version of what that warranty means, so you don't have to dig for the paperwork. It also covers the other times it makes sense to get in touch: a new crack, a different foggy window, or a window that's stopped behaving.
What does the 2HourGlass window repair warranty cover?
It covers all labor and parts we install, for life. That includes glass, hardware, and screens, and a hairline crack in glass we installed is covered. On double-pane glass, it also covers the seal: if that seal fails and you see fog, haze, or moisture between the two panes, that's a covered problem. Covered labor and materials cost you nothing. The full terms are at https://2hourglass.com/warranty.
A double-pane unit is two sheets of glass with a sealed space between them. The seal is what keeps moisture out. When it fails, the glass goes cloudy from the inside, and no amount of cleaning helps. That's exactly what the Lifetime Seal Warranty is for.

How long does the window repair warranty last?
It's a lifetime warranty on all labor and parts we install, including the seal of double-pane glass. It stays no matter who owns the property, as long as the glass is still in the same window, the sash is still in the same frame, and nothing has been altered. If a problem is covered, labor and materials cost you nothing. The limits are the same for the life of the warranty: damage you caused, like impact or misuse, isn't covered.
What isn't covered, in plain words?
Three things. First, impact damage: if something hits the glass and cracks or breaks it, that's a new repair. (A hairline crack that isn't from an impact is covered.) Second, misuse. Third, changes to the window: the warranty applies as long as the glass is still in the same window, the sash is still in the same frame, and nothing has been altered.
None of that means you're on your own. A broken pane we installed can usually be replaced the same way the first one was, with the frame kept, and the new double-pane glass comes with its own Lifetime Seal Warranty.
What if my windows still have a manufacturer's warranty?
If your windows are fairly new, the company that made them may still cover the glass, so that can be worth checking first. If that warranty has ended, or the manufacturer is no longer around, we can usually replace the foggy glass and keep your frame. The double-pane glass we install then comes with our Lifetime Seal Warranty.
Does the warranty cover hardware, screens, or single-pane glass?
Yes. Our lifetime warranty covers all labor and parts we install, so hardware, screens, and single-pane glass we install are covered. The Lifetime Seal Warranty is the part for double-pane glass; single-pane glass doesn't have a sealed space, so there's no seal to fail. What isn't covered is damage you caused, like impact or misuse. One promise does apply to hardware: if we can't repair a hardware problem, we don't charge for that repair or the attempt.
What if the glass you installed breaks?
That's a new repair, not a warranty claim, because impact damage isn't covered. A ball, a branch, or a slammed sash can crack any glass. The fix is the same as before: send photos, get a price, and we replace the glass while the frame stays.
If it's urgent, call or text (267) 458-7879 and send photos with your ZIP code. We don't work Sundays, and after-hours help is case by case. Board-up is available on request while new glass is on the way. Our guide to emergency window glass repair explains what to do first.
Does the warranty transfer if I sell my house?
Yes. The warranty stays no matter who owns the property, as long as the glass is still in the same window, the sash is still in the same frame, and nothing has been altered. That can be a nice point to mention to buyers, because it shows the glass was replaced and is still covered. If you're getting a house ready to list, our article on window repairs before selling a house covers what's worth fixing first.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Call, text, or email us with photos of the foggy glass, crack, or problem part and your address. We'll check it against your original job and let you know the next steps. You don't need to diagnose anything yourself. A clear photo of the fog is usually what we need.
- Take two photos. One of the full window from inside, and one close-up of the fog or moisture between the panes.
- Send them to us. Text (267) 458-7879, email sales@2hourglass.com, or start at https://2hourglass.com/start-service. Mention that it's glass we installed.
- Add what you remember. The address and roughly when we did the work help us find your job.
- We review it. We'll confirm whether it's covered and schedule the visit if it is.
Not sure if it's glass we installed? Send the photo anyway. We'll sort it out.
When should I call 2HourGlass again?
Any time a window or glass door is cracked, foggy, stuck, or won't lock, or a screen is torn. Fog, a hairline crack, or a failed part in work we installed is a warranty question. Everything else is a new repair, and it starts the same way: photos first, then a fair price for the right repair.
Here are the most common reasons past customers get back in touch:
- Fog shows up in glass we installed. That's what the Lifetime Seal Warranty covers.
- A different window has gone cloudy. Other double-pane windows in the house can fail too. Our guide to cloudy double pane windows explains how to tell.
- New glass damage. A crack or a break from a ball, a branch, or a storm. After bad weather, our after-storm window check walks you through it.
- A window won't stay up, lock, or crank. Balances, locks, tilt latches, cranks, and hinges can often be repaired.
- Torn screens. We rescreen or make a new screen.
- Patio, entry, or storefront door glass. We replace glass in doors. Door rollers and locks aren't our main work, but we can take a look at it for you, or refer you to a reliable partner we trust.
Some windows do need replacing, usually when the frame is rotted, or cracked or warped too badly to hold new glass. If that's the case, we'll tell you plainly.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a warranty repair cost?
If the problem is covered by our warranty, covered labor and materials cost you nothing. For anything not covered, every job is priced individually. A range wouldn't mean much, since the price depends on the exact window. Send two photos and we'll send your exact price, usually within minutes during business hours.
How long does a warranty repair take?
It depends on the glass. Regular-size clear double-pane glass is usually replaced in one visit, most of the time within 2 hours. Low-E or argon, tempered, textured, and colored glass is measured first and installed when it arrives, usually 2 to 3 weeks later.
Is the warranty transferable?
Yes. The warranty stays no matter who owns the property, as long as the glass is still in the same window, the sash is still in the same frame, and nothing has been altered.
Does the warranty cover broken glass?
Not if it's from an impact or misuse, since damage you caused isn't covered. A hairline crack in glass we installed is covered. A broken pane is a new repair, and we can usually replace the glass and keep the frame.
Should I repair or replace a window that fogs up again?
If it's double-pane glass we installed, send a photo first, because the seal is covered. If the frame itself has rotted, or warped too badly to hold new glass, replacement may be the right call, and we'll tell you.
What photos should I send?
Send one photo of the full window taken from inside and one close-up of the fog, crack, or problem part. For a warranty question, mention that it's glass we installed.
